    Product Description

Fitbit puts everyday activities to work toward your fitness goals. It is a whole body approach to getting and staying fit. Fitbit uses the latest technology to track your sleep, exercise and calories and helps you use the data to get the results you want. Tracks your progress, day and night. Compact Fitbit Ultra can be worn in your pocket, clipped to your pants or shirt, or even attached to your bra. To track sleep, simply attach Fitbit Ultra to the included wristband. During the day, it uses a 3D motion sensor to measure your daily steps and calories. At night, it measures how long and how well you slept. It then automatically wirelessly syncs and uploads your data to fitbit.com whenever youre near the base station so you can see graphs, set goals and join groups. No monthly fee! To check-in on your status during the day, you can press the single-button control. Each press cycles through the six modes: steps, distance, floors climbed, calories burned, your overall activity level (as indicated by leaves on the flower icon) and the clock. Fitbit Ultra comes with a base charging station with USB output, sleep wristband, belt holster and free access to fitbit.com. Li-Ion Battery lasts approximately 5-7 days. Measures: 0.75"w x 0.56"d x 2.125"h; weighs: 0.4 oz. Use with the Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale. FitBit Aria Scale is the only smart scale that wirelessly talks to your computer. The scale measures weight, percent body fat and wirelessly transmits the information to your online profile at Fitbit.com (No subscription fee required!) where your body mass index is automatically calculated. You can keep these results private on your profile. You decide what data you share and what data you dont. Arias easy-to-read display shows your weight and percent body fat. Aria wirelessly uploads the data to fitbit.com where you can track your weight, body mass index (BMI) and percent body fat over time with the online graphs and mobile tools to help you reach your goals.

I've been using my original Fitbit in June of last year, and have used it on a regular basis ever since, even on several trips, including two to Europe and one across the United States. I've found it a very nice way to track activities and to estimate calories burned. But, as an early adapter, I had to try the Ultra, and made a present of my old model to a good friend.

As promised, I've made a few additions to this Review as I've used this clever little pedometer, particularly aimed at people who didn't own the original. One point that may save you a bit of angst when you receive the device -- there are no written instructions at all, except the absolutely necessary advice to go to the FitBit website to get started. (I spent a few minutes taking all the packaging apart just to be sure.)

Setting up the Fitbit Ultra is simple; it took about 15 minutes although I was familiar with the basic system. A first time user must download software, either Mac or PC and... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome motivator., April 6, 2012
I absolutely love my new Fitbit. When I read on the box that it can be as addicting as Facebook to check out I didn't believe the hype. Until I started using it. Now I check it all the time. I love how it's more than just a pedometer. I find myself trying to move around more when I'd normally just be sitting around. I want to add more steps and get more flights in to challenge myself. I feel like this is going to be a huge positive thing for my health and well-being.

I'm so glad I decided to get this little teeny tiny fitness motivator. It pushes me to do more physically and gets me off of the couch. I sit at work and can't wait to get home to take my dogs out. Before it seemed like a chore now it's, how much more can I do.

The Fitbit is small and fits in your pocket. It can also be worn on the little holster clip that attaches to your belt or bra. For sleep tracking you just slip the entire unit into the wrist strap they provide and keep it on the non-dominant... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS is What I Was Missing!, April 12, 2012

If you are like me, you have tried all kinds of things to lose weight and be more active in hopes of finding one that "sticks". Running, aerobics, you name it, I have tried it. This little gadget has changed everything because it led to the epiphany that I don't just need a specific activity to "stick" to be healthy--I just need to be active enough (doing whatever) to burn off the calories I put in my body and meet my health goals. It's so simple and we all know it's true, but what the Fitbit does is arm you with the power of extremely high quality, real-time information to make better decisions every single day, in the very moment you are making them.

For example, I set a goal for a 500 calorie per day deficit to lose one pound per week, and when it comes time for dinner there's no arguing with the numbers. Either I have enough burned calories for what I want to eat or I haven't. What this means is that now I either have something lighter to eat or I take a walk or climb... Read more
